Nifty above 11,040; Premier Explosives jumps 16%

The domestic benchmark indices are trading higher in the afternoon session on Wednesday. Sectoral indices are trading on a mixed note with auto and realty trading in green and IT trading in red.

On the corporate front, the shares of Premier Explosives jumped 16 per cent after the company won an order from Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre and the shares of Lemon Tree Hotels gained 3 per cent after Motilal Oswal remained bullish on the stock. The brokerage sees a potential 41 per cent upside from current levels, citing strong growth ahead.

At 13:22 hours, the SENSEX was trading at 37295.5 up by 150.05 points or by 0.4 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 11040.95 up by 37.9 points or by 0.34 per cent. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 37343.46 and intraday low of 37193.57 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11054.8 and intraday low of 11011.65.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex were YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 71.60,+13.47%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 131.30,+7.71%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 59.80,+7.36%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 365.35,+3.35%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 145.70,+3.22%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1060.60,-2.17%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 702.35,-1.47%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2152.50,-1.41%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 819.00,-1.23%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 128.10,-1.08%), among others.

Among sectors, Realty index was at 2033.47 up by 71.02 points or by 3.62%. Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 541.50,+5.62%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 162.70,+5.51%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 939.00,+5.01%), Housing Development & Infrastructure Ltd. (Rs. 6.36,+4.95%), Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. (Rs. 403.85,+2.09%),.

On the flip side, TECk index was at 7755.87 down by -98.93 points or by -1.26%. Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 248.65,-2.72%), Just Dial Ltd. (Rs. 725.55,-2.51%), Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 354.65,-2.31%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1060.60,-2.17%), Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd. (Rs. 1640.00,-2.14%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2610 , shares advanced were 1723 while 739 shares declined and 148 were unchanged.
