Nifty above 11,410; CG Power rises 6%

The frontline benchmark indices is trading marginally higher than morning session. The shares of CG Power and Industrial Solutions were up 6 per cent to Rs 44.75 in intra-day trade on the BSE, extending its month-long gain, on report that KKR, Yes Bank and BOI AXA may take control of Avantha Group Company. The stock has zoomed 109 per cent from its 52-week low of Rs 21.40 touched February 14 on the BSE in intra-day trade.

At 11:29 hours, the SENSEX was trading at 37977.67 up by 222.78 points or by 0.59 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 11411.25 up by 68 points or by 0.6 per cent. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 38024.95 and intraday low of 37760.23 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11428.05 and intraday low of 11370.8.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex were Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1314.65,+3.48%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 192.55,+2.72%), State Bank of India (Rs. 297.45,+2.16%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1025.00,+1.83%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1708.60,+1.53%), among others. The top losers of the BSE Sensex were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 333.90,-2.61%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 1699.60,-2.17%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 88.90,-1.28%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 240.30,-1.25%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 171.60,-1.21%), among others.

Among sectors, Bankex index was at 32843.67 up by 442.3 points or by 1.37%. Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1314.65,+3.48%), Bank of Baroda (Rs. 119.20,+2.23%), State Bank of India (Rs. 297.45,+2.16%), Federal Bank Ltd. (Rs. 91.60,+1.55%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1708.60,+1.53%),. On the flip side, FMCG index was at 11715.44 down by -104.05 points or by -0.88%. Kwality Ltd. (Rs. 7.04,-4.99%), Ruchi Soya Industries Ltd. (Rs. 7.79,-2.62%), Future Consumer Ltd. (Rs. 44.95,-2.49%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 10489.95,-2.35%), KRBL Ltd. (Rs. 362.15,-2.27%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2454, shares advanced were 1299 while 994 shares declined and 161 were unchanged.
